SAYFA Youth Day Event - 20 June 2009

The South African Youth Forum Abroad held a successful Youth Day Event at the Max Roach Park, Brixton on the 20 June 2009.

Max Roach Park in Lambeth is the home of the Hector Pieterson Memorial and obviously a significant venue. The day began with a beautiful rendition of the South African National Anthem, followed by a memorial service in honour of the youth who fought against Apartheid. This was followed by excellent entertainment from the SA Dancers, and South African DJ Selektaa and DJ Mkhukhwini. Many thanks to our guests, the Lambeth Mayor, the South African High Commission, Mr Clarence Thompson and our sponsors, Breytenbach’s, IOM and Unisa. Thank you also, to all those who volunteered and assisted as marshalls on the day - your help was greatly appreciated!
